i would guess no. wiring differences doesnt take to much for them not to work right. id look for a 96-00 tranny.

i know the manual trannys will swap right over in 92-00 but theres no real wiring there. the automatic tranny is all about wiring

This might be considered hijacking, but I'm looking to swap my 6th gen 120K mile DX manual tranny for a 60K mile EX manual. Is this a straight swap with identical fittings, housing, dimensions, etc?? Sorry but did think I needed a new thread for this quick question. Thanks!

yes the manuals are the same everything. same linkage, axles, clutch just unbolt and slap the ex in there. but IMO im keeping my dx a dx tranny.... better milage with the cost of gas ill suffer alittle performance any day! hell id love to find a HX manual tranny to swap into my dx for even better milage but finding one of those is like the holy grail for me right now...

I guess I'm a bit of the opposite. Looking to sacrifice a little mileage for some performance. I drove this car bone stock for 9 years. And I've already swapped out the flywheel for a 10.9 lb one along with the new clutch. Oh, and my ISB is starting to make noise. I plan on keeping this car for at least another 5 years - it's been that good to me. So a low mileage EX tranny is my next step. Thanks for the info!

What mods do you have on your 96 DX? CAI, exhaust? Those are good for MPG's. Have you thought about lightweight wheels yet? If you go aluminum 14's that could make a difference over steelies. The effects of weight reduction is proportionally greater when done to the wheels, from what I've read. Just curious.
