Default Synchro question

I was just wondering if anyone had to replace their synchros and at how many miles. My 99 EX has about 64K miles and sometimes when I'm going into 3rd it grinds even with the clutch all the way to the floor, sometimes I have to double clutch to get into 3rd. It doesn't happen often, maybe once every 20-30 shifts or so. I got it used with around 38K miles a couple years ago, maybe someone that had it before me just couldn't drive stick (I've never owned an auto car so I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong.) Any thoughts are welcome and apriciated. Thanks.

Don't replace the synchros. Replace the transmission. Less money AND less work... and used JDM trannys are cheap as hell.

Thanks for the tip but, I was just wondering if that's what it could be or if anyone had any other ideas or whatever. It's still under warranty from Honda so if anything was going to happen it would prolly involve them doing it. I'm not really interested in spending money on it right now... I can live with it if it's not something they'll fix.

if its under warranty, get it fixed! you dont want to have to pay for that once its off warranty.

I know right... It's under waranty for a long time though, I bought the extended thing when I got it. I was just wondering if that sounds like what the problem actually is. I don't want to have them tear it all apart and have it be nothing or something stupid that the waranty won't cover and end up paying for having them tear the whole thing apart.

yeah, it's alot of money to open it up and fix it...minus well get a new one eventualy. my old tranny had the same problem. 3rd gear is always the first gear to have that problem usually, cuz it's the most used gear.

i didn't mind that problem either much...until i lost my 4th gear...then it was time for the replacement tranny...haha
