Default Replacing 3rd gear synchro

Does anybody know if this is a labor intensive job? My 3rd gear synchro is going out and I just want to know if it actually is worth it to fix or just to replace the whole tranny...any light people can shed would be great! Thanks
Josh

It wouldbe difficult if you not familiar with the tranny internal parts.. the shop prob. charge you anywhere from $200 - $800... I can service your tranny for you if you were local in da Bayarea, CA

I could rebuild my own tranny I just don't have the tools to do it, with all the snap rings and such. Not to mention the tranny jack and crap like that.
No worries about the piggy back we are all here for the same reason.

Aparently mine is going out too cause my 3rd gear is falling out all the time, but yeah for a used manual transmission on ebay with not a lot of miles is $300 or less at least for my car ('99) so depending on the cost of your transmission you might be better off to purchase another one.
