alright i got a big problem. my 97 civic ex 5-speed, the cars like stuck in neutral, i think the clutch is done. the car starts fine and runs good, the trannys gears are still in tact i can shift into them with out pushing the clutch and it doesnt screech or grind is that a broken clutch?

 

sounds like it....what's the milage?

 

My car did the same, the clutch was gone.

 

when you floor it does it sound like its not grabing the gear?

 

yo i think i have the same problem. i replaced the axles cuz they broke too, and it runs fine, but doesnt move, when i let off the clutch in neutral i can hear a slow quiet grinding noise. no gear works, but when i engage the clutch, it seems to be smooth when i shift thru the non-working gears. am i crazy or is the tranny just gone?

 

when i push the gas it sounds normal, no grinding or nothing ,but when i release it i can hear a lil ping or chime like a penny going down a well.i can shift the gears with no grinding and the gears seem to be good.

 

you probably broke your pressure plate or cracked your clutch disk, might want to have it checked out by a mechanic

 

sounds kinda like my CRX, it had a broken clutch spring

 

same problem. happend this mourning once i drove out onto a busy street at lunch time. i was about to shift to second, it popped out of gear and luckly coasted into a parking lot. i tried shifting with and without the clutch and it felt exactly the same, it was as if the clutch was always engaged. I heard a few pings when revd. someone told me about axels popping out after a swap, i have a b18c1 with an s80 and check engine light is on. i reached under and was able to turn the axels by hand, what does that mean?
