As shown in the diagram, immerse the bleed hose into a container of brake fluid and then slowly pump the pedal. When you get a steady stream of fluid (no air) continuously rather than "here and there", then hold the pedal down and tighten the bleed screw. If you don't completely immerse the end of the hose in fluid, you will draw air back into the system when the pedal goes back up.

I've done this, and bubbles were constantly going through the tube..

My friend Drue and I pumped for over an hour and the bubbles kept coming. Not rapidly, but constantly..

Did you install new O-rings on the slave and master cylinders? Did you properly tighten the hydraulic line connections?

NO NONO dont leave the pedal down and then tighten the line... thats your problem and why you dont have any pedal... do it again and this time bleed it and pull the pedal back up and THEN TIGHTEN the bleeder. and then you should have pressure. i did mine and had the same wierd problem. just raise the pedal and then do it. what its doing is geting vacume in the system when you leave the pedal down and tighten the bleeder so it can never build pressure. its not like your brakes where its boosted.

well its posible that the rubber line he is using is not fully sealing on the bleeder valve. ive had that happen plenty of times where i think it still has bubbles but it just wasnt sealing on the bleeder.
i would just try to pull the pedal up and see if that builds pressure for ya... if it does and works fine then great, but if not then ya it could be a bad seal on the hydrolic lines somewhere.... tho id think a leak would leak some fluid also. |
wait, leave the pedal up??? but then it would suck air back in, wouldn't it???
