Default Auto Trans Clunk on initial acceleration

I've got a 97' EX civic sedan with an automatic. If I step on the throttle hard from a full stop there is an ugly clunk, but then it shifts fine through the rest of the gears. If I go easy on the throttle from a full stop, no clunk. Any ideas?

Have you checked your engine and transmission mounts? If one is broken, that sound could be the engine itself moving around and hitting stuff...
