RE: ACT or EXEDY?
buddy has an excedy stg 1 in his boosted ls crx......14psi outta a 14b and no slippage whatsoever even while doing 3rd gear burnouts. great clutch for the price IMO. ive personally never used act so i dunno about that one.

ACT is good, but for considerably less money you can get (IMO) just as good of a clutch in Exedy. Exedy is made by Daikin Clutch of Japan, who is the OEM supplier of almost every Japanese car manufacturer, so you know you can trust the quality. and as for personal experience, I couldnt be happier with my Exedy Stage 1 and flywheel. perfect combo, and what I recommend to anyone looking for 250-280WHP or less. (thats a lot for a turbo B16, so im thinkning that would be plenty for you. any higher staged setup will make it twitchy and not as nice to drive.)

my buddies excedy stg 1 is carbon kevlar....i think the only thing i hate about it is the engagment. the engagement is a little on the touchy side meaning you have like 2" tops pedel between engaged and disengaged. right now im curently running an excedy stg 1 disc with a comp clutch stg 3 pp. engages slightly harsher than factory but its barley noticable. i for one prefer oem type pedel feel and engagment which is hard to find with a performance clutch and a cable actuated tranny. those who are running hydro clutch types should feel fortunate.

really? man, i love mine. its almost as smooth as stock, only a little worse if you are starting out uphill or something, you might get a touch of chatter, but other than that and a slightly heavier pedal feel, it feels pretty stock. and the pedal feel isnt much worse than a normal car. Hondas are known for a light clutch pedal.

I used to have an ACT 6 puk sprung hub. Talk about engaugment, pretty much like light switch, although the grip was great with the LSD and it made good for 45mph two wheel burn outs.
For the money though Sacs Exedy combo was an awesome deal. Are you thinking of going with a clutch/flywheel combo?
