99-00 Intergra/SI Axles into a 99 2dr
I have quite a few questions about swapping axles, because i am REALLY looking into a b16a2 swap into my '99 DX Coupe, and i know you need to axles to do this swap. I know you either need 99-00 Integra or SI axles for this, so here are my questions:
- When you swap axles, can you still use the same brakes, or do you need to buy new ones?
- Does the suspension (springs, shocks) from my car fit with the new axles?
- Is the actual swapping of the axles one of the hardest parts of this swap? (seems like it would be)
And can anyone give me a link to a write-up that includes the swapping of the axles? I think i can handle the engine, tranny, and ECU, but the swapping of the axles seems pretty intense. Thanks all!

2. they don't touch, it's fine, you're not swapping the hubs

Well i dont got ABS, so i have to buy Non-ABS specific axles?
So i really dont need to touch anythign except the actual axles themselves?
Thanks for the info MXS!

if your car does not have ABS you can either use non-ABS axles, or use ABS axles and modify them.

take the wheel off.
take the 32mm or 1 1/4 nut off the axle.
take the fork off the lower control arm. you need a 17mm socket and rachet to take it off.
take the cotter pin and the 17mm castle nut off the lower ball joint.
take the ball joint off the lower control arm. this might be a lil hard to do. don't use the ball joint separator that looks like a big *** fork. this will rip your ball joint boot. what you do is:
jack up the wheel hub enough for it to go up, and wedge an open wrench, or your 3/8 rachet in between the ball joint and lower control arm. lower the jack and move it out of the way. now kick the wheel hub at the top and that should separate the ball joint from the LCA. swing it out of the way.
now your axles are ready to come off. you might have to pry it off w/ a flathead screwdriver from the tranny. good luck. let us know how it goes

Thanks man, thats exactly what i was looking for. Well i'm not gonna start teh swap for about a year, but when i do, i think i'll dedicate a thread just to the swap itself. Should be good though

You say you can handle the swap yourself, but take a look at your drivetrain first ... the axles just connect the transmission to the hub assembly, and you only have axles in the front. the rear has no axles, the hubs are just attached to the suspension
