95 Civic - 5spd to auto swap?
I have found lots of write ups on auto to 5spd, but what about the other way around? I have a 95 Civic that I'm considering swapping over to auto for my daughter.
The main thing I'm interested in is:
what all parts would I need?
Anybody have a writeup on it?

You might have a problem with a transmission mount. I did on mine. The Auto trans mount was an inch to the left of where the manual trans mount. We opted to weld it in....but this was on my 1999.
You'll probably have to cut out and weld/bolt down the sheet of metal from an auto car where the auto shifter is. Shift linkages are different so they might not fit. Again I had to do this on my 99.
You'll want to take the clutch pedal out.
I'm almost positive you'll need an automatic ECU, and since the wiring harness for the auto car has extra solenoids and such to monitor the trans, you'll have to add those in I believe for it to work properly.
I promise you, it's not worth it. And your will learn a valuable skill by learning to drive a standard and have more respect for driving and a better understanding of driving. After driving a manual, I do. And if she ever gets stuck and HAS to drive a manual for some reason, she'll know how.

Here is a DIY for an auto to manual swap. No pictures, but it tells you all that gets changed. This should at least tell you what to reverse.

It's at least worth a shot to try to teach her before you do anything

I agree. I do like her knowing how to drive a standard.
From what I've been reading, there is alot of wiring issues involved too, probably not worth the hassle
Long story short...this was the other daughter's car. She ran it hot, blown head gasket, spun bearings. When I bought the car I put in an entirely new AC system, axles, brakes, etc. So after she blew it up, I pulled the D15B7 and did a D16Z6 swap. So the car is basically new (except for some cosmetic battle wounds from a teenage driver). I don't really even want to put an auto in, I just thought if it wasn't to big of a deal I would. But it looks like a pretty big ordeal, so looks like its going to stay 5spd. Which is fine with me.
