1997 Honda Civic Vtec EX

I have a 97 Civic Vtec EX with the Auto transmission. It has approx 155k on the motor and tranny. I have not had any problems with the tranny until this afternoon. I made it about 20 feet from my house when I noticed it was slipping going into 2nd gear. Then about 100 feet later I had nothing. It was like I shifted into neutral. Then when you put it in park it doesn't engage so you just roll. When you shut the car off and let it sit for about 5 minutes you can drive another 20 feet and then you have to shut it off and wait again. There is tranny fluid in it so I know that is not the problem. If any one has any ideas as to what is going on with this car I would greatly appreciate it.
