*Wineing Gearbox ????
There is a wereing/wineing noise when im in *gear* accelarating* and only then , Dose any one have any ideas what it mite be of experanced it them selfs my friend thinks it mite be the diff??? He told me to replace the gearbox oil first ???? to see if that helps ??? [&o]

I would change the tranny oil first. From your description it could also be your wheel bearings. If the clutch affects the noise I would have to say throwout bearing or transmistion bearings, but I don't think so if the cluch position doesn't effect the noise. However, IMO I would stay away from additives like previously mentioned. Good reading:

Well i got to my gearbox nut and it was full of oil and after jacking up the car the sound was definatly coming from the cluch area and i think it was a thrust bearing my mate mentiond so im going to get a new paddle cluch. What company is good to get one from also mite get a lighter flywheel ????? ADVICE PLEASE

My civic has a similar problem... (sounds identical) I am told it is a bearing in the gearbox going bad. I think it was called the "road bearing"? Bascily if it is the problem, it means a new gearbox. I've done another 10000 on mine (total 310000) and the noise is just slowly getting louder. The suggestion "replace the gearbox when the noise is louder than the radio can go".
