Default Tires Rubbing

I have a 97 civic and just bought new 16in rims for it, and they rub when i hit bumps and during some cornering. I put some rubbers in the springs to stiffen it up which helped some. But it still rubs more than i would like. It rubs more in the rear than the front which makes sense because the stock suspension in the front is stiffer to start with. I am wondering what the easiest way to fix this is. I was thinking about getting a good set of lowering springs to stiffen it up would this be enough.

all ideas welcome

lol i dont get how you are rubbing with 16's on a stock suspension. Do you have monster truck tires or something? But really tho whats your tire size

Yeah, what size tires. lol Im dropped 2 inches in the front and a little more in the back with no rubbing with 16s. Stock wouldnt rub unless you riding some massive tires.

you really shouldn't be rubbing with 16's on the stock suspension unless you have giant tires or crazy low offset wheels. I had 17's and was dropped 3" up front and 3.5" in the rear with no rubbing at all. Let us know what the tire size is and we'll figure out why it's rubbing.

Also, where exactly is it rubbing? The inside of the wheel well? The fender lip?

hes got to have some huge tires! or completely jacked offset!!!!!!
you can run some larger tires with a stock suspension no problem but you cant go to large.
i had some large tires on my civic before 215-45-17s and they rubbed bad upfront when turning but the rear was fine with stock suspension.
simply run some numbers thru this site and find out whats close to stock. or look for the recomended tire size for 16s...

16x7 wheels - 205/40-16 (1.3% larger than stock)
16x7 wheels - 205/45-16 (2.24% larger than stock, better ride quality than 205/40's)

Its because the wheels are offset. They rub on the fender lip. I had 18X7 inch wheels on and had no problem but these 16's rub because they are offset. I'll check the tire size and post it tomorrow. The tires are not low pros maybe have a 2 and a half inch wall height.

Those tires should be ok on a stock setup. Any pics?
