Default Sway Bar Adjustment

I just bought some Bomzracing bars off of ebay for my 2000 ex. I've only gotten my rear on so far but I noticed there were a lfew places I could adjust it at. I got it on but couldn't feel much difference. Could someone tell me exactly how everything shoudl be tightened. There is a bolt on each side that just holds the three peices together, but is there supposed to be movement here or should it be tight? Also in the middle of the bar was a threaded piece to shorten and legnthen the bar. Thanks in advance.

I've now read a couple of posts saying not to use sway bars that aren't a solid piece. The ones in the auction's picture were solid, should I email him and ask him for the solid ones?

You shouldn't be able to move any part of your sway bar. If it moves around it isn't working. You know what it's suppose to be doing, right?

Wait a sec, I don't think you're talking about sway bars. Probably just tie bars in which case you won't feel much difference (the top ones are the only ones that really matter)but everything should still be tight.

Okay, I beleive I have some names mixed up, I thought tie bars went underneath your car and sway bars went inside. The bars that connect the the car in your trunk and under your hood. It's not a seperate peice but it has threads that make the bars longer and shorter. Here is the auction, but the ones pictured do not have what I am talkign about.

Ebay Auction

My camera isn't working but I'll try to find a picture of what I'm talking about.

the upper ones are called "strut tower bars" or "strut braces"

they should not be loose/movable AT ALL

See that bar hooked up to the front lower control arm with red bushings? It's a front sway bar.

That is how a set of them usually looks

almost every single nut in any car has a torque setting (basically how tight that nut should be [measured in lbs]). go get a torque wrench and set it to the right amount and go at it. sorry, not sure exaclty where you could get one and how much they run for, try and ask a typical autostore of they have one. the wrench will click and kind of slip to let you know that its tight enough. its kind of messy, but heres a pic with the torque settings....
