I am trying to get a set of winter tire. My intention was to get a set of 195/70 R14 (to replace 4 season 185/70 R14). After quote around town, I found out one sells man against 195/70 R14 idea with a good reason. The problem relate to 7gen (and onward) Civic McPherson suspension design. He theory is: "Because the damper (shock) used on McPherson design place alot closer to the wheel (tyre) than 6 gen(and before) Double wishbone design, when snow/ice start to accumulate on the strut it will start rubbing tyres and destroy them." So, I want to confirm if there is any one here has tried on 195/70 R14 for winter without any modification?
