So its time for a new Suspension!!
#22
Alrighty well finally after a day and a half of work, I finally got it all done! I can't believe how great it drives, I am completely happy how it came out. The only thing I have left is to go get it alligned, which I will do when I get up tuesday because I have the day off of work.
But this swap was faaaaarrr from easy this time around due to some problems with the front left. The first problem I had was that the nut on the upper control arm ball joint (that connects the arm the the knuckle arm) was stripped so I had to cut off the ball joint and the nut, and drill out the hole. It sucked and ate up about 4 hours on saturday afternoon. And of course it didnt help that my dad kept coming out there telling me I was doing it wrong, and that I was and idiot and I was going to eff up the knuckle arm. But he was wrong I finally got it out after a lot of drilling, and the knuckle arm has no damage at all.
The next problem I had was that the sleeve for the lower shock mount bushings was THE WRONG SIZE!!. I know I didnt mix it up with any of the others cuz it is not anywhere close to the same size as any of the rest of the sleeves. There were two in the kit (one for left one for the right) and both had the same outer diameter, but the one that I was using for the left had too small of an inner diameter so the bolt would not go through it. So I had to go to my uncle's house and use his drill press to bore out the sleeve to be able to fit the bolt through. Once we bored it out, everything went right together.
Those were the only problems I had but they ate up pretty much all of saturday and I got up today to finish the rest. I got lucky and didnt have any locked up bolts or seized bushings. but I went ahead and used all the new bolts I bought as well as plenty of anti-seize just in case I have to take them off again sometime down the road.
And the batteries died on the camera so I cant get any after pics up today but I'll go buy some tomorrow and get them up.
