metal on metal tapping

I had the EXACT same problem.. Believe it or not my solution was in the control arm...I have nightmares about that damn sound, mine was also when I hit bumps. So check that area man. Hope this helps

Ball joints, i gaurantee it. if it is the upper balljoint then it will be your upper control arm, the lower should be able to just replace the lball joint by itself

It was my sway bar...the bushing strap bolts sheared off in the frame....and the bushing moved out of the way so the sway bar was hitting the frame. did a quick fix till I can get my hands on my dad's tap and die set to remove the sheared bolt. thanks for all the thoughts though.....helped me narrow it down.
