Do you mean between 1500 and 2000? That's incredibly high for idle speed.

As far as vibration in the steering column, I suspect either imbalanced wheels or the tires. It's very unlikely that a bushing or control arm would be "bad" from the factory.

WOW! I've been following this thread and it's really freaking me out. Sorry I can't help with the problem, except to say I, too, believe it's a tire or balance problem if it happens when the car is moving. Your tires have a separate warranty directly from the tire manufacturer, and not through Honda. Try that route and go to a tire dealer in your area and have them check the tires. I'm also totally turned off, now, on Hondas. I was just going to look at the new Civics to replace my '05 Civic and get a CR-V for my wife. Will definitely look to another line for a replacement. Something like this can really leave a bad taste in your mouth.

I would go to ANY other reputable shop, be it a local tire joint, or a damn goodyear/firestone/sears tire center.... give them the full story. As a matter of fact I would go to ALL OF THEM, and get written estimates on what they suspect is the issue. Then go back to honda with your info and ask for the idiot that told you it's a honda not a caddy. Show him the documents and ask how to reach someone from Honda USA. You have a lemon. Your car should NOT vibrate, period... for any reason.
