iight. nah i kno winter has ended. just getting some info for up coming winter. can the studdless tires be driven on dry pavement when there is a day or 2 where there is no snow. or do you have to keep changing them when there is snow and there isnt.

if its still winter and cold out i dont see a problem with it myself... the drive will probably be louder with the stubs on dry pavement, but main reason ive heard that some states say its illegal mainly because the studs will damage the roads alot more.
best thing to do is go to your local police station and ask them about your states law on studed tires.

well i know the studded tires are legal during a time period. but i was planning on gettin studless ones. people say the studded ones are a pain when there is no snow out. and that the studless handle pretty well in the snow. almost the same as studded. just thought the studdless would be better since i travel a long distance on highways and dont want to be driving on studded tires at 60-70 mph on the highway when its a nice winter day.(no snow on ground)

o well for studless you can drive on them when ever... but they will probably wear out faster on dry roads. but are legal to drive on when ever.

hey stein - what issue of Consumer Reports did you get your data from? Was there any for 15" tires?

I realize this thread is super old, but will offer a data point in case it's useful for anyone. I'm still running the same set of Blizzaks that I got for my car for its first winter (2005-2006). They are very low mileage due to the driving I do, but my point is that the tires are kind of old at this point.

The Blizzaks have always been awesome for grip and stability and even at this age, they still are. I haven't noticed any degradation in performance at all.
