Default Anyone have experience w/ "Drag" Slipstreams?

The seller has 100% feedback with over 9000 sold and the price is good. I'm wondering if it's the same product but without the Rota name, which would be fine. Or a knockoff that is probably of lesser quality. Also, if you had a choice, would you go with Slips or HX wheels? Both seem to weigh the same (~12lbs), just wondering if the wider width of the Slips give it better handling. Thanks.

This is also something that was explained to me by mxs, i believe... wider tires on dry surfaces will give you better handling... wider tires on snowy/ice surfaces will make your car like skiis. ... I really like those rims but what color is your car? Red or black? I personally think black and red cars should have all black rims... white cars can pull it off if the rims are bigger than 15 though.

My car is actually silver. I have dark tints so I feel that they would look good with it. So you think those rims are legit even though they aren't actually Rota's? I know you said on another link that you could photoshop to see exactly how they would look on my car, so here is a pic. What I meant by the width is that with the "slips" being 15X6.5, I would probably put on 205/50/15 tires and with the HX's being 14X5.5 I would put on 195/60/14 tires. So for the "slips" I would gain 10 on the width but lose 10 on the diameter, sacrificing road fomfort for width. Just wondering which would be best and what the difference between wider tires and wider rims was because an extra inch of width on the rim is a lot more than an extra 10mm on the tire. Thanks.

What does "pwned" mean? OK, wider tire makes a difference, but what about wider rim? technically you could put 195 width tires on a Slipstream (6.5 width) or an HX (5.5 width), so if you had the same width tires on each but the Slip is an inch wider than the HX rim, what would the difference be?

'pwned' means 'owned'...and it basically means they suck in the winter

theoretically...you can put the thinner tires on the slipstream than capable but if you do that it would defeat the purpose of getting a wider rim.

keep snow tires on your steelies and get some 3-season performance tires on your slips then you can have performance tires in the spring/summer/fall and snow tires in the winter without worrying about changing your tires.

Define 'the purpose'
I have always heard that wider is better, and considering these rims both weigh the same, I was just wondering what my best option would be as this is a big investment for me. It seems to be like this,

Slips- wider rim (15X6.5), wider tire (205), less road comfort (50), more expensive

HX- thinner rim (14X5.5), thinner tire (195), more road comfort (60), cheaper

Also, why are wider tires bad in snow? To me it would seem to be the other way around.

a wider wheel will sometimes weight a little more BUT u can fit a wider tire on it, which the wider tire can almost make up for the lil extra weight with grip. if u want better handling get the slips and some 205/50R15 tires on there. that tire also does not comprimise road comfort as much as u would prolly think. im on 195/50R15 and aftermarket suspension and the ride isnt bad at all.

wider tires are bad in the snow because, like nail said above, they act like snowshoes. they will sit ontop of the snow and u will lose grip with the pavement. just think about it, put snowshoes on and walk on the snow, u will be walking on top of the snow. put regular shoes on and u sink into the snow, same concept with tires.
