I too have 17's on my 94 ex. If i knew how to post pictures i would toss one up. My car hasn't been lowered and i have never had any problems. Im planning on dropping it an inch or so because there is too much fender gap.

I've had 17s on my EG for over 2 years lowerd 2.5 inches with Skunk2 springs and stock shocks. I rarely have rubing issues. Now..I dont know about you, but I dont race the baja 1000 in my car, so I dont think the suspension is going to F up any time soon. And since when does a civic's suspension cost $1k?

mmmmmmhhhmmmmm.... I've had 17's for over a year with absolutely no problems whatsover concerning brakes or suspension. The only problem you'll have with 17's is spinning the tires because they're too freakin heavy. Oh, and don't say anything about how good the roads are where I live... I live in the middle of nowhere where the roads absolutely suck. You know, like potholes that will swallow 14"wheels whole and come back for more.

I would have to ask where the hell bayar1987 is getting his information from... An entire civic suspension coilover system can be found for under $500 first off... If you lower you car and take it into a mech. and get it adjusted for the lowering, camber and align. then you will be perfectly fine. The chassis really wouldnt make that much of a difference. If you get parts that are made to take this alterations then you will have no problem. And 17's are heavy but if it's what you want go for it. There will be no problem tossing 17's onto a 5th gen civic.

I have had 17" wheels on my civic hatch since March last year and have not once heard any sort of rubbing noises, although my suspension is still stock.

You guys from the US don't realise how good you've got it. Here in the UK our main roads are a total mess, nevermind the B-roads that we have around here. I've been trying to decide whether to lower my car or not but I can't take it much lower than it already isb'cos the ride will be unbearable on most of our roads. Its just not practical to have a lowered car on our roads as I'm sure it'll beat the car up. My front suspension is already knocking pretty badly, and I'm blaming the many potholes I've hit while trying to miss cars coming in the opposite direction.A lot of the B-roads here are not wide enough for two cars to pass without slowing right down, they are covered in potholes and have 7ft hedges either side. Then you get some retard driving at 70mph+ in the opposite directionright in the middle of the road, just to make it a bit more interesting...

Basically British roads suck ***, which is pretty surprising considering we pay a fortune in road tax and fuel duty. I filled up with some Shell Optimax (98 oct) the other day and it was £1.009 per litre. Thatsthe equivalent ofUS$2.01 per LITRE of fuel. Its anabsolute rip-off, but there is nothing we can do about it.

theres quite a few people here on HCF with 17"s, lowered, and it's their daily driver. On a 5th gen thouhg, i say 16"s, but 6+ gens i think 17"s look really good with a drop, and i dont think they rub if you get the right size tires.

To those of you who have big drops and 17"+ wheels that are saying you don't have rubbing issues, I have but one thing to say..

You're not driving hard enough
