Default 14" semi raceing tires?

I looked on the tire review page and almost all of the reviews are on 17" ultra performance tires. I decided to stay with my stock rims and just paint them soon, so I'm run'n 14's. I want some summer tires that are semi sporty, that will last atleast 40,000 miles for a decent price. I live in new england that gets all kinds of weather, but in the winter I'll be changing to the cheap winter tires I have. What would be the best all around tire brand/brand's, and performance categorythat rides pretty smooth, lasts awhile, traction but also are sporty, Any suggestions?

The tread pattern and the compound should be the same for all sizes; if someone reviews a tire that sounds good to you I wouldn't discount it just because they had a different size than you.

well for one thing, performance tires are morelimited to the smaller sizerim size, and another is that I'm not looking for ultra performance.

I was looking at these 'Dunlop sp sport A2 Plus' high performance all season tiresat tirerack.com, they come with a 50 dollar rebate. I read through the reviews on there site and most are very positive only thing is around 40,000 miles they get louder and run more rough. good deal?

My 97 CX has the 14-inch steel wheels and the tires look like truck tires to me. I can't wait to get rid of the tires and rims. Generally, the larger the tire, the sportier it can be, but I'd say the smallest super-high-performance out there is the 195/50/15 Goodyear GSD3s. They are phenominal on both wet and dry pavement. In fact, they handle better on wet surfaces than most tires do on dry surfaces!
You can get some super-light Falken wheels for $95 each, throw on the GSD3s and you've got better handling than 99% of the Civics on the road.

The Falken Azenis are a great summer tire, they are sticky and have a very stiff sidewall. But they are by no means an all-season tire, I wouldn't put them on the car until I was 100% sure there would be no more snow or even freezing rain.

I've heard mixed reviews in rain. Supposedly the new model is better in rain than the old model.
