Default WTT: Kenwood KAC-7201 amp for trade + money out of my pocket..

I have a Kenwood KAC-7201 amp that i'm willing to trade for a more powerful amp in the 700-900 x 1 (rms) @4ohms. I will give you my amp and some cash. I need it because I have a 12" kicker CVX sub and i need more power to make this bad boy bump.

I stay in NY 10303, i'm willing to travel, depending on the distance.

dude finding an amp that puts out that much power at 4 ohms is gonna be pretty hard and expensive. your best bet is to look at amps with regulated power such as the alpine pdx 1.1000. but also with that sub, the two coils can be wiredin parallel and run at 2 ohms, and finding an amp to push that much power at2 ohms is much cheaper and easier

i dont know how the wires are inside the box, i just bought it from a guy i'm pretty sure it's wired to run at 4ohm. So what about the amp that i have already is that good enough? or i need something stronger?

that sub is a 750 watt rms amp and that amp is only 460 watt rms ar 14.4v so i would still suggest getting a new amp if you want to power it to its full potential. what i would recommend doing is rewiring the sub inside the box in parrallel, or "bridging" the coils, so that it runs at 2 ohm, then get a mono amp that runs around 1000 watts rms at 2 ohm and turn the amp down to about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way up. what this set up will do is get you the mostsound out of your sub while still getting good sound quality bcause the sub is getting the most wattage it can handle and the amp is not being stressed to provide that wattage. also you should get a 1 farad capacitor to protect your alternator cuz civics dont have the most powerful alternators. i dont have have anything to trade with ya but hopefully this will help in your search, but that is a nice suband i would definitely keep it.

ya that would be way better. its pushing 800 rms at 2 ohm so that would be great for that sub. if you can get a good deal on it then that would sound awesome.

I can get it but i dont think the quality of the amp is good because the retail price is 170. I can get it for 125. But i think it seems kinda cheap.

ya its not gonna be your best quality, but its gonna be pretty good for that price. if you want a good one here are some that I recommend:

Kicke zx1000.1 1000 RMS $700 at Circuit City <---this one...
Kicker zx850.2850 RMS $650
Kicker zx750.1 750 RMS $500 at Circuit City
Alpine PDX 1.1000 1000 RMS regulated power $850 <---or this one are the best amps but are pricy.
Alpine MRP-M850 800 RMS $400 at Best Buy <---my favoritecuz its a good pricefor what you get, you might be able to find itcheaper
Infinity REF1600A 900 RMS $300 at Best Buy
Kenwood KAC-9301D 900RMS $300 at Best Buy

Kicker and Alpine will be the best, if you want to save money get the infinity. I used to be an installer and I used to have problems with Kenwoods but if you like them then its a good deal. Alpines and Kicker are super clean and put out the power they say they do.
of course you can get any of these cheaper on the internet somewhere that just where I got the pricings from. plus im biased cuz I work at Best Buy

if you go with a 2-ch leave the wiring inside the box as is and bridge the amp, and if you get a mono then you will need to rewire it to 2-ohm.
