Default Lookin for radio/speakers

Lookin for a replacement aftermarket radio with harness and wires. I recently decided mine is dead, much like my back left speaker.
Nothing fancy, just a radio with a cd player and a radio.
And stock speakers are all I need (95 civic LX)
I know, give me suggestions for what I should get instead, but there are other things I need to spend my money on, like a new passenger door that doesn't have a 4-6" deep dent in it =p

Did your stock radio die? or was it aftermarket? If it was aftermarket, then just buy a new unit from the same manufacturer that utilizes the same exact harness. As for the speakers, just buy oem units if you're not into the whole sound system fad.

I have no idea what stock speakers cost, but they may be hard to find for cheap for that year range. I'm not really sure though. you may be able to find some really cheap speakers at wal-mart for the same price or cheaper, and wal-mart is a lot easier to find.

Durabrand speakers from WalMart are alright for the price. You'll need 4 six inch round speakers. They're like $8 apiece.

And on that dent... You could pop the door panel out and see how much you can carefully push back out. I did that on my old 92 Civic.

Yeah I plan on bending the dent back when it gets a little warmer out. I figure I'll be happier to start tearing stuff up and the metal will be a lot happer to be torn up when it's warmer

Yeah, aftermarket radio, I can't even find one online anymore. It was like...I think deh-42 or something, a pioneer. I took the harness into an audio shop and he said the splicing was all done correctly and the harness connections looked fine. If the connection on the back of the radio was bad, it could be that. It looked fine, so he suggested my blown out speaker was the culprit and to unhook that, I did and still nothing. After that he said it was probably the radio.

I'll head to walmart and find some speakers, thanks a bunch guys. Still lookin for a radio! So if you have one or a friend does, run it by me!

All I could find were 5.25" speakers, I haven't measured the original ones, I know I should. Those the right size?

yes the stock size is definitely 6 1/2" all the way around.

and as for the radio, how old is it? I know that all of the pioneers for the last few years have the exact same plug (with the exception of the video units). The only thing that varies is the presence of a dimmer wire and that just depends on the radio. If your old radio is new enough, you could get a new pioneer radio and it should just plug right up and even use the same mounting cage.

The radio's pretty old, I've had a lotta trouble finding any support online for it, even finding replacement models. All I can find for it are replacement faceplates. I'd say it's probably from pre-2000.

If stock are 6.5" diameter or circumference, would I have to fill the extra 1.25" with something or?

As for a cage, I think it will still work fine. It's a little tight and tough to get in/out and some of the holding tabs have been bent around, but it's not a huge problem.
I think the problem is just the radio itself, someone earlier suggested the internal amp could be fried...I started a thread about it a while ago, called like "aftermarket radio is stupid" or something of that sort.

The only connectors in the back of it are the 16-terminal plug, the antenna and a red and yellow audio connectors, circular, like those on a TV

What about these speakers? Retail ~$50 on pioneer's website.
Found some sales on ebay for about an average of $25.

They compatible with...my...car, or would I have to do some modding, which I would be completely incapable of.
Also, are there 2 or 4 speakers with that, and what's 2-way mean
man I'm helpless

MOD--can I get this thread moved to audio/visual? Turning into a different type.

I am retarded. Yes, 6 1/2, NOT 6.
