FS: 1998 Honda Civic EX 5spd., Blown Engine
Vehicle: 1998 Honda Civic EX (Black), 5spd., Blown Engine (timing belt went we believe, I know...I'm an idiot).
Location: Columbus, OH
Mileage: 158,???
Price: First $1600 takes it. I do have a local offer for less, but had seem similar vehicles online for around this price and above. So, I thought I would take one chance and post here to see if anyone is interested. I read the site's rules for posting and I'm following said rules to the best of my abilities since this is one of my first posts. I've been on this site many times as a guest just browsing. Anyway. On to the car.
I'm selling my 1998 Honda Civic EX. It is a 2 door black EX coupe, power windows, power door locks, keyless entry, sunroof, cruise control, 5 speed. I might be forgetting some options, but I'm sure any car site has the list of options. It has a blown engine and instead of putting a new engine in it I bought a new car. I haven't added anything to the car performance wise. In the 5 1/2 years I've owned the car I have had to only change the oil, put an exhaust on it (cat back February of last year), brake pads, and new tires (3 Pirelli's and one Yokohama (tire discount was out of Pirelli tire when I had one go down) front tires probably need to be rotated, rear tires have lots of tread. Scuffs on a few of the hub caps from parallel parking. Threre is a small crack in the left corner of the back bumper. Picture makes it seem worse than it really is, but it is what it is. Patchable for someone who knows what they're doing. Me, it didn't really bother me so I have left it alone. The only other problem I have had with the car is the emergency brake was sticking for reasons I don't know. I had the Tuffy around the corner disengage it for me. Therefore, the emergency brake is non operational. I was told the repair is less than $100 for a shop to do it. I'm sure if you have the know how to put an engine in this baby, you could probably handle the install of a new emergency brake if you want it.
Condition of the interior: I would say 8.5 out of ten I guess. Maybe 9. I have an alpine cd changer for the car, that currently is not in the vehicle. I use satellite radio and Ipod. For $1600 I would throw it in. 15 minute install. Has mounting brackets and screws to be installed in trunk. Run the cable through the interior, plugs right into back of radio, you're good to go. I do have some of my personal Cd's still in the magazine. Doh! Forgot to take them out before I took it out of the car. I would like to get those back at some point before or after sale. Anyway, I guess there is some normal wear on the inside. I can count on my hands the number of times someone has been in the back seat. Meaning it has hardly been used. The car has the clean original floor mats minus the driver's side which I replaced. The driver's replacement floor mat has some soil stain on the left hand side. I also have a matching grey vinyl mat I use on the driver's side to keep further dirt off the mat. The only thing besides a good vacuum, and some armor all, would be there is a small (3 inch?) split along one of the seams of the driver seat from getting in and out of the car. Easily patched I'm sure. And I somehow broke the plastic handle off the hood release. I use a wrench to pull the rod. Pops the hood just fine. I tried some JB Weld on the handle, but I think I bought the wrong kind of stuff for the job. Didn't work so well. Nice car. Paint is good, a few door dings here or there, but overall the body is nice. No rust at all!
