Why is royal purple awesome???

haha not just pep-boys. just guys who are hacks and could care less about what kind of job they do to a customers car. I run my own shop and its demanded of me to do a profesional, neat, and overall excellent job so it really bugs me when people do some crap job and charge a customer for it. pep-boys and the like just generally dont do very good work and i cant think of a better word than nerd to put on the forum. lol. I'm sure that there are some good techs at a jiffy lube some where but my thought is, if your good than why are you there???

Good point. Where is your shop? Do you just do repairs? or do you do performance etc?

Guys, you're fooling yourselves...

I'm in the cincinnatti area, I've been doing repair stuff for a while and I've done some performance jobs. mostly bolt on stuff. Rebuilt a few motors. I'm looking to go all out and concentrate on only performance stuff. I hope to eventually do it all. Custom suspension setups, motor swaps, turbo, nitrous kits all of it.

proof is undeniable about royal purple. Yes expensive, but there's nothing wrong with it.

lol, silly kids will believe anything.
From an old thread: Guys, I've formulated the ultimate Windsheild Washer Fluid. $10/bottle, **** adds like 25hp and and 5-10mpg.
Who wants some?
not sure what that has to do with anything..
I NEVER said there was anything wrong with it. What I am saying is that its not God's gift to man in form of fluid. You're NOT going to see increases in power, efficiency, or mpgs by spending $2.50 more per bottle rather than something like Mobil1. If you think for a second that your stock Civics are going to show any type of increase, YOU ARE KIDDING YOURSELF. It's been proven time and time again on forums across the web that there are no benefits from running RP vs. any other reputable Synthetic on your typical street legal vehicle. Higher horsepower race cars may benefit, but again, it will make NO difference on your run of the mill econoboxes.
Royal Purple is nothing more than over-hyped and well marketed. Do you have any idea why its always "featured on Horsepower TV!"? Its because they're a ****ing sponsor.

Think about it like this.. Let's say Royal Purple gives you an extra 2mpg. (not going to happen, but for conversation's sake)
start out with 35mpg for 3000 miles - 3000 / 35 = 85.7gal (@ $4/gal) = $342.85
add RP, get 37mpg for 3000 miles - 3000 / 37 = 81.1gal (@ $4/gal) = $324.32
You just saved $18.53 in Fuel. However, the added cost of Royal Purple is goin to be anywhere from $15-$20.
Is it really worth it? I think not, especially when you could (not likely..) get that 2mpg from Mobil 1 for 2/3 the cost of RP.

5000/35=142.86 (@$4/gal)=571.44
5000/37=135.14 (@$4/gal)=540.44
I saved 31.00 in fuel with only Only $10 extra for me by your count. Unnecessary?...maybe so......Is it a bad thing?.....no....is it doing a worse job than mobil 1?....no It may not be $2.50 worth of better than mobil1 but it's a preference. I think that you get what you pay for and at least it's not AMS oil which is $10.95 a bottle. I have my limits lol.
