very very true. no matter how fast the civic or integra is, without at the very least, a custom tranny, its going to top out before 150. so a stock Viper keeps on it, eventually, hes going to pass them. he might be half a mile behind when the Teg starts bouncing off the limiter, but when hes stuck at 145, and the viper goes by at 180, then who wins? street racing is stupid.

 

i have done alot of street racing in my day, but it was also always late at night, and it was never planned in advance...and it was usually friends..

some guys who cite dont *** reasons for not going to the track (like they spent 30g on their car, but dont want to pay 15 bucks to run?) in these videos spend tons of time getting these runs planned. like the videos with that 10 secone evo running the three cobras? there are a ton of cars sitting around..just go to the damn track...people who insist on street racing can make all of the excuses in the world, but theyre excuses are like a$$holes...

Exactamundo. That 'Teg would be trapping significantly lower if it could get all that power down off the line. That's why he's getting (relatively) average times with such ridiculous trap speeds. In order to get into the meat and potatoes of that powerband, he's gotta be launching close to, if not over, 5,500 rpm, and there's no way those numbers are staying on the pavement without two more drive wheels. Also, without completely removing the suspension (or something equally crazy), there's going to be ridiculous amounts of pitch and flex working against it coming off the line... And I'd imagine the Civic would shave at least half a second off as well.

I can assure that the vid is real and that the teg more than likely does not have a stupid low gear to get those times in the 1/4 mile
