Default Cleanest K20A2 EK Hatch Ever!

I have been following this build thread on K20A.org for awhile now and the owner/builder finally put up some finished pics of his car. Both the quality of the work and the parts used is simply amazing. It's sick. Check it out!

it's not very hard when you have money. ****, if everyone had that kind of money devoted solely for their car, we'd all be driving k20 civics and v-6 egs.

That was clean as hell, but why did he have a ASR subframe reinforcement AND a beaks tie bar when he didn't even have a rear sway? Does the K20 torque the body that much??

I don't want you to ask that question ever again, lol. A inline four cylinder in a fwd does NOT "torque" a body. And that's not what the ASR subframe brace is for. It's for: tightening up the rear, protection against sway bar damage, and looks.

Hmmm, did I not say "...why did he have a ASR subframe reinforcement... ...when he didn't even have a rear sway..."??

Why is it that B18's can break windshields?

Alright, let me take a shot at this one. I said he could have it for either: looks, rear sway, OR to tighten up the rear. And why is it that B18's can break windshields is beyond me. It all depends on what he did, what caliber of build. Sometimes, when glass reaches a certain frequency of vibration, it can break. soooo, that might be the case. oooor, it could be from something else he did wrong. The definition of TORQUE is basically a moment on a certain structure that causes a twisting motion, trust me, i've been studying them for years. Now, the subframe brace is attached parallel to the alignment of the motor, so how is the four cylinder capable of providing torque on the body when the motor is also perpendicular of the moment that the ASR brace is helping? explain that one. so basically, all i'm saying is that the ASR frame is not designed to add support for torque off the powerplant.

Well, semantic games just annoy me. My initial comments were to poke fun and/or to attempt to understand the owner's excessive stiffening of his rear end. I have heard of engines twisting frames, but I have only heard that with muscle cars. I figured that this could be similar to the big engine little car deal.

i'm not playing games, just simply trying to educate, that's strictly why i'm here, and to have a little fun in the mean time.
