well the civic is alot lighter, i doupt that dude has turbo, or anything major, dont get me wrong that was tight to c the civic win but theyre not in the same car class so its not an even race

Thats what made it a good race because a civic beat a car way above its class.

Exactly, a lot of people would automatically assume "no contest" when those cars linedup, and its always good to see the underdog take it

oh, im not questioning that!! i got my a$$ kicked by a civic a few weeks ago, and while the ret of the V8 guys that i know were quick to run their mouths, i went over and shook the guys hand, because he had one haulin a$$ civic.
the problem with the viper is that the average joe q public who buys one is some rich middle age douchebag who is trying to show off how much money he makes, and how cool he is. the truth is, it seldom works. these guys often have little experience with performance cars, and when they are in the drag racing setting, they dont know how to launch without bogging or spinning, they miss gears, etc. 2 years ago i ran a viper at the track and i beat him, and i was pretty full of myself, especially when alot of the "screw him because hes rich" kids came over congradulating me. i ran like a 12.70 @ 106 or so, and he ran a 12.8-something @ like 110. it was also an early first gen viper, with fairly high mileage. racing on a few of the national mopar circuits, i have seen LOTS of vipers, and i have seen one guy in an aearly first gen consistantly run mid 13s, because he doesnt know how to drive.
