RE: your thoughts
Nitrous is safe if you know how to use it properly. I'm not an expert on nitrous but I know few of my friends that likes to drag race has them on their cars & I saw that they have a cut off switch where the nitrous wouldn't spray unless your throttle body is open at full throttle. Nitrous can ruin the motor if you spray it without getting enough fuel.
Another thing you need to check is the compression. Do a compression test before installing nitrous. Make sure the compression is still good.

thats not a problem. the intake tube wont just hold a big bunch of nitrous at the ready for the throttle plate to open again. the throttle plate has a small hole in it for air intake during idle, it would slowly feed in through there, and gaseous nitrous oxide, by nature, wont just hang around for long anyways, even if the plate sealed off to the motor, the 800-900 psi of nitrous would push back out through the filter.

I'm on the juice with one of those throttle switches..i get off of it (traffic)...as soon as the throttle plate opens.....my intake, bypass valve and throttle body decide they wanted to leave. I still have that throttle body around here somewhere. Even the manual with the kit warns about possible damage if nos is present while the plate is closed.
I agree with Ice...a turbo is way better.

Get a turbo. I plan on getting a del sol and make it all motor with nitrous. on my civic i have a alcohol injection kit and its kinda like nitrous. go turbo its a hassle but, in the long run its better. Do it to just hear the blow off valve.
