Do a Mini-Me, then turbo it. Putting a VTEC head on the motor alone will give you a big noticable power gain and would be about the same as a z6 or y8.

Mini-Me ftw. You should do mini-me alone and see hwo you like it, i that think bolts on like 26 hp or something. Then boost it from there

and yes, i do think it would be worth it. D-Seires enginse respond well to boost (or so i've heard)

but doesnt a mini-me give u high compression, therefore isnt it bad for boost?

true....i'll give ya that. I know riceburner swapped his engine for a non-VTEC one and then boosted it because he said "he doesnt want to deal with VTEC, its just another thing that could go wrong"

so either way i guess, VTEC will definately add some more power, and its not like boosting a VTEC is bad, i mean people all over the forum here have it. Either way, boost will be awesome. How many miles for your engine have? Get a compression/leak down test and if all is well, youre good to go

but doesnt a mini-me give u high compression,
more times than not no it does not, depends on head selection but a Z6/Y8 head tends to not jump compression more than a .1 or .2 points which really dont mean anything.

yea i think im gunna get a z6 head and then boost it, my only worry is getting my mechanic to put he head in properly, is it hard to wirre up the vtec when doing the mini me swap and also what gains can i expect from the vte4c z6 head on a d15b7 block?
