Default Turbo Timer

I want to get a turbo timer. I was looking at this Buddy Club Secu-Timer, its a turbo timer and has a security feature that you have to put in a password before you can start your engine. How hard are these to install and where can I put/mount the timer in the interior?

alot of people mount them on their gauge bezel, like right in the middle at the bottom of their speedo, its convenient to look at and it doesnt block anything

and alot of people use GReddy Full Auto Turbo Timers or HKS Turbo Timers. Both are reliable and fairly cheap, and i've heard with the GReddy one you can use a universal harness for easy installation

the greddy auto timer (what i have) also has a built in feature that measures the temp of the turbo and will run until it is cooled to an optimal temp (auto timer feature)

turbo timers are not necessary. you could just as easily sit in your car and let the car idle for half a minute or so (more if you've been pushing it). they're just a convenience.

Go with an HKS Type1 Turbo Timer. They can be had for cheaper than the one you linked to on Ebay, and they basically have a built in GTech that will display estimated 0-60 times, 1/4times, 0-100-0, g force, etc..

for a DD i'd almost say its necesarry, i think it'd suck if you were running late and you pulled up and just had to sit in your car for 45 seconds to let your oil recirculate.

and that $130 is pretty steep, even the GReddy Turbo Timer is like $80, HKS might be even cheaper

Alot of good alrams have the option to let the car continue to run for x amount of time after you take the key out. I think that these items are good for turbo cars since you dont have to sit in your car and let it cool down. I know in my old MX6 after some spirited driving my turbo and manifold would be a nice orange color and i would suit there for 10 mins just to let it cool down some to not damage anything.

If you spent 1000 bucks to turbo your car whats another 100 ish to keep it safe?

try 3000 bucks lol, im going with the greddy, they run around $70-80 and a harness runs aroun $20-30 for easy install

so yea $110 bucks for a sweet light right at the bottom of your speedo that lets you not worry about shutting your car off whenever you want..

yea, get the timer, or youll be pissed when you romped on it once, and then forgot to wait in your car and you cook your seals...

for the $100-140 you spend on the timer will make you really happy when your jumping in and out of your car instead of wasting a minute EVERY time you get out lol
