Default Turbo help

I recently bought a 4 door civic dx with a ebay xspower turbo kit. Now everything in this car is basically being exchanged. I am wanting to run a garret t3 t4 with a tial 38mm wastegate synapse synchronic bov. Im gonna keep the intercooler thats on it now. Im gonna buy a new pulley system new eagle rods, and head studs. Does anyone know how much power this will get? And how much boost i could run? Its a d16yz with a vtec head. So basically a frankenstein motor. Any suggestions for parts etc would be appreciated.

good rule of thumb is that an engine can withstand 2x the amount of power it has. d16y7 with y8 head 127x2 = 254hp. This is depending on the health of your engine as well. Do a compression test and a leakdown test to figure out it's health.

Power depends on the tune, if you do get it done proffesionally you can get some decent numbers.

Oh if your going to upgrade the rods you should be able to push it a little more. things you can do to help performance; get the head port and polished, edelbrock intake manifold (or stock one ported polished and matched to the head), forged pistons, bigger injectors.

Things Needed: hi flow cat conveter, 2.5" cat-back exhaust, synthetic oil, one step colder spark plugs

Highly recommend: get your ECU chipped or buy one prechipped, tune at a shop with a good standalone system (crome, hondata, uberdata, etc.), wideband, oil pressure, and boost gauges.

You should figure out what hp goal you want first then go from there. Reliable daily driver? or all out track car? Using a cheap turbo setup you prolly shouldn't go more than 200whp but if you upgrade the right parts.. who knows

^ Werd, good advice. To the OP, you metioned rods and head studs. I agree with Live_4it, get pistons and injectors, and at the very least port match the intake and the head. With all that and a good tune youll get pretty good power numbers, and wont loose reliability.

heres a pretty damn good list of what to look into, for a good amount of power... and just to inform you, a d16 with eagle rods, forged pistons, new bearings, new water pump, new oil pump / timing belt, and a cam gear can make 400whp with nothing done to the head...
