Turbo finally done, after months of waiting!
My turbo install is finally finished! I have had a horrible time trying to get the right parts for my car. By the right parts, I am one of those guys that originally tried to go the cheaper route by buying a turbo kit off ebay. First of all, to all of the people that are thinking that getting an ebay kit, DON'T! I heard this tons of times, but ignored the warnings, and I pretty much had to buy things twice. I originally bought a kit with a turbo, intercooler, piping, bov, wastegate, boost controller, and manifold for about $650 off of ebay. Well, the deal was infact too good to be true like everyone was telling me. I actually ended up not using a single piece from that kit except the charge piping! I'm currently selling my other "scrap" turbo kit, and try to salvage some money out of it.
my new turbo kit includes:
Precision SC50 .63 A/R
RevHard cast manifold
Godspeed Intercooler
Tial wastegate
Greddy Type RS BOV
Golden Eagle Vac Manifold
ARP Head Studs
RC 550cc Fuel Injectors
Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump
P06 converted to P28 with OBD2-OBD1 harness
Hondata S300
and a tune by Mase
Total figures:
210 whp and 175 wtq @ 8 psi
Mind you this is a completely bone stock d16y8 with only head studs
I will have pictures up soon. I want to say thanks mainly to Sovxietday. You helped me out a ton, pointing me in the right direction!

haha interesting. I was thinking about getting the cheapo kit and replacing the wastegate and turbo with good stuff, but im thinking more and more against it. Sounds like a great build!

How's the spool on that SC50? I want to see a dyno graph too.

Here is the dyno chart.
Sovxietday, the turbo is surpising close the the .48 A/R for spool time. On my downpipe, I kept A/C, so they did a 2 1/2 downpipe, tapered into a 3" back, which helped out on my spool time. My buddy has a .48 A/R at 12 psi on a z6 and said thespool of my .63 A/R at 8 psi is only 200-300 rmp difference, and the response is identical. So, to say the least I'm happy, but nowhere close to satisfied, so I'll be back in the shop the 22nd get more out of the motor and tune.

After taking a look at my dyno, I have 170wtq, not 175wtq. The dyno does read a little lower, unlike the dynojets but still,I was trying to pull a fast one on you guys......[sm=bustedsign.gif]

wow good job man. was it just you alone doing the install? also how much did you end up putting into the new turbo kit that you pieced together? welcome to the boosted world.

I think you have the same wheels as me. Motegi ff6? I never see anybody with those wheels and you just so happen to be like 15 miles away. I should be running boosted by this weekend. We definately need to race some time.
