Not any harder than on 5 or 9 or 17 cylinder engines with the same boost. Anything that creates more cylinder pressure is going to casue added strain on your motor. A properly tuned trubo or SC will last a long time with minimal wear and tear. Cars come with factory turbos, right? They wouldn't put them on there if they were going to explode in the first year or two. People run into problems with aftermarket kits because they want to run 14psi on stock internals and no fuel/engine management.
