Default nitrous on high compression

ok i have a 97 civic ex, irebuilt the motor and jumped the compression to around 11.6 or close, trying to get more power out of my D16 but it is still weak. i am thinking about adding a 50 shot, but not sure how safe it would but run that high of compression on pump gas. or would i be better off just going with something like a stage 2 crower cam.

I would go with the cam first but N2O works great on high compression cars. Just run colder plugs and time it correctly.

why do you say do the cam first? i know it will get more air and fuel in the motor...but will it make more of a difference with the high comp. and would you go crower stage 2 or something eles?

bisimoto cam ftw. He probably said cam first because you have that power all the time, you only get power from nitrous when you turn it on plus refill costs.

If it is the only car you have then I would stay away from forced into alltogether. I know everyone says that it can still be reliable but it is just more parts that can break and leave you with no transportation.
