Block gaurds are ****. Really, you should resleeve. I heard that having you block posted will still be better than a block gaurd, but its still not as good as sleeves, maybe someone else knows more about block posting?

Well seeing as I don't have 1000 dollars for sleeving, I am going to spend slightly over 100 on a block guard for a little extra dependability. I would rather get the KMS instead of having to get a shop to drill holes in the GE blockguard.

Why dont you check out block posting? If you do it your self itll only cost about 45 bucks, and like I said its better than using a block gaurd.

I think the stock block should be more than fine for low 300hp numbers. The forgedrods and vitaras are all you need. And when you get it tuned is when you find out optimum rpm of vtec engagement.

There is no conclusive data on a bg vs. posting. The topic has been argued for countless hours. It all comes down to opinion. Myadvice is to buy the golden eagle bg and formulate your own opinion on it. I was going to throw one in my setup, but had problems getting it before the machine shop bored my sleeves. 100 dollars isn't much considering the bg may in fact prevent a bown head gasket.

Well... take it from someone who knows, you don't need the blockguard.

I was wondering if I should replace my timing belt and water pump for this build? They were chanegd about 50 000km ago. I found a deal online for:
Timing belt
• Valve Cover Gasket
• 5 Valve Cover Grommets • Tensioner (GMB)
• Cam Seal
• Crank Seal • 4 Spark Plug Seals
• Water pump with gasket

for $98 shipped. It says all parts meet or exceed OEM standards. Is this a good deal?
