Default Legit supercharger?

I was cruising around ebay yesterday, and happened to see an auction for a supercharger for an 96-98 ex civic. Basically it breaks down like this. It's a supercharger off a slk Mercedes and this guy has custom built a bracket so this supercharger will replace the a/c compresser and run off it's belt. Then he has custom piping to put everything together. Here is the link. Hypothetically it seems like it would work, but anyone have any thoughts on it?

Hmm... seems a little shady to me, but for 150 bucks, give it a shot. I don't know why it would need a BOV though. I also have a feeling you are gonna need more piping than that.

Where do you live? I wanna help install it.

I was wondering about the need of a blow off valve myself, also I'm in so Cal. If the general consensus is that it will work, I'll probably end up getting it.

General consensus my ***. Get that sucker. People do junkyard turbos all the time. WHy not a junkyard SC? If you dont' get it, I might.

You could just get a new bracket made too where you could keep your ac.

What state are you in? Also I was thinking if I ditch my a/c that will free up some power as well, so it's not like I'll be adding another pulley and taking power away like other s/c's

Louisiana.

You will just be using the power it took to run the AC.

Hmm... it does look shady but what the hell? Set a new standard. Why wouldnt you need a bov on a super charger... i thought you DID need one?

superchargers stop pumping air the second you let off... so you wouldnt need one. turbos keep trying to pump it when u let off... so u can eather force it to stop and hear that cool noise, or let the air go outside and keep it spinning.

not really. they continue to pump as long as they are spinning. so if its making boost, and you close the throttle plate, there IS extra airflow there, so technically, it would work, and should help a bit with response and maybe even compression braking. but its not as necessary as on o turbo.
