K20Z3 Engine Just starting...questions
Hi everyone...i just bought my 2007 civic si from my brother it has 36 K miles on it...i have about 10 K to spend
what should i spend it on first
im going all performance right now and i need help...
whats turbo is the best to get for this engine or the most effecient at a decent price?
greddy turbo? its expensive but is it good?
also what should i do in terms of internal...pistons, camshaft, rods, manifolds, injectors (come with turbo right?)
any help would be appreciated...
thank you all from chicago

RE: K20Z3 Engine Just starting...questions
You need to be careful when boosting your 8th gen. civic. The problem is the tuning software available for your engine. Unfortunately Hondata does not make a Kpro system for your engine so you are left two other choices: greddy e-manageor AEM F/IC. I have read of numerous situations where these systems have destroyed engines. They are just not as good/reliable as Kpro. I'm not saying that if you tune with e-manage or aem fic you will definitely destroy your engine becausethere are some people who are running low boost setups using this software and so far so good. Just wanted to make you aware of what can happen so make sure you do your research before making any decisions.

Old thread but I've been thinking about throwing a turbo on my 07 SI and it seems the bulk of what I've read leads me to say..wait for Hondata to release a K-Pro ECU or perhaps go with the Greddy system but keeping the boost pretty low? I guess ultimately I can wait since the car is still under warranty..
But you guys would recommend just waiting for the K-Pro? Any news of them getting close to releasing one/working on it/not working on it?
