if it were me.... and this car was just for weekend f-ing around/ racing... i'd do a b20 vtec with nos.... screw turbo and super..... one or two stages of nos would do the trick...... i had a b18 with some rods and pistons. squeezing 150 in 4th... heald up great and it was such a blast.... i also had the nos kit completelyhidden (with a 10lb bottle!) there are soo many options of power with these cars... that's why there soo popular

in response to- "You will be pushing it to get to a 2.0 on that engine with bore alone because you would need to go over a 85mm bore which will promote overheating, hot spots, and weak cyl walls. Biggest I would go would be like a 84mm or maybe a 84.5 mm bore which will put you at around a 1933cc or 1956cc engine(1.933 or 1.956 displacement) But IMHO your best bet is to stay 82 to 83mm on the bore and select a good turbo for it. I think from the sounds of it a GT35R would be at home on that setup "

so basically i should jsut forget about broing it out and just upgrade the turbo? there is a t04 turbo on it right now so when i upgrade the trubo do i have to get an entire new kit or can i just purchase the turbo by itself? is the gt35r made by greddy? what will the main advantages be if i upgrade the turbo rather than boring it out? what are some god things to do to keep the motor cool?

now what would be the advantage of changing it to a b20? wouldn't that be pretty expensive? did you have the b18 squeezing in a civic or what kind of car? if it was a civic, did you have limited slip differentials? i would love to use nitrous on this motor cuz i think it would be cheaper to squeeze rather than going b20 vtec right? is this possible b18 vtec turbo with nos? if so what company is good to go with nitrous express, venom, etc. many people say that excessive use of nos will fry my engine, thats true isn't it?

I was thinking about it and the GT35 may be a tad big for your car, I would swing towards a GT30. They are turbo's made by garrett. You should want a different turbo manifold and you may need to make small changes to your piping but it will be well worth it. My buddy had a GT30 on a 3rd gen eclipse with a stroked/built evo engine in it and made 408whp on 22psi and that is not even opening that turbo up as they shine at 28 to 32psi. And as far as upgraded turbo vs doing more bore, I am not going to lie more displacement is allways better but in your case the cost does not justify the reward. Where you will only make slightly more power and slightly more tq with the displacement you will make huge gains with the turbo.

I'd keep the built GSR and put a larger turbo on it and raise the boost. Don't forget the fact that, your not going to be putting anything to the ground without suspension work. Wheelspin will be the death of your launching.

so i have some good and bad news... my car is finally about to be out of the shop and i'll be receiving it this coming saturday. and the bad news is that my turbo is blown so i have to get a new turbo now. the guys at the shop recomended that i stick with a t3/t4 turbo but i'm guessing a bigger turbo would be better to get. what type of suspension work is the best to do in order to get all the power to both wheels to the ground? lsd's???
