I had a local tune shop do mine. It cost 100 to soder in a socket that will accept a chip. At that point they but a basic fuel and timing map on a chip and put it in my computer. Then I took it down to them and they tuned it with crome for 100 an hour on a dyno.

Yeah but remember they start charging while they are hooking the car up. And i had to pull the car off because of boost creep. So really 2 hours to tune. If you ask around thats pretty normal. I thought it was alot at time too. And bad tuning=blown motor.

Boost creep is caused by lots of different things. They have a good tutorial on it in this forum. But in my case it was a lack of back pressure. I had took out my cat and had a 2.5 inch exhaust all the way back including my down pipe, so long story short my exhaust was going thru my turbo because there was less pressure there then out my wastegate even though it was wide open. Which gave me boost creep.
