Default Dumb question???

Ok so me and my brother have been thinking about getting turbo on our 05 civic LX. We were wondering if you need a kit or you could just get the turbo. I was looking at the Garrett T25BB and also wanted to know if i could just stick that on the enigine, cause I really don't want to have to spend 2.5 g's if I can get something a little less afforadable. Thanks

well u could do that......i guess it would do the same thing as hitting your motor with a sledge. if u goin to do something do it correctly. Turbos cost thousands because they require more than just the turbo itself.

Expect to pay lots more for all the extra stuff you'll need under your hood, and don't forget about your exhaust.

once just for fun, before i swapped in my b16, i made a simple tubular manifold, hung a td04 turbo on it, and stuck a filter on one end, and two pipes, one straight to the throttle body, one straight the front of the bumper to expel exhaust. d series, 110xxx on motor. it was a good time., for about 60 seconds
beautiful. what a way to go.

yeah, i would go to www.howstuffworks.com --this is not a flame, this is serious, and provides great info!-- they have detailed diagrams and info on the way a turbo system works, and also, if u r interested, explains in detail nitrous oxide and what it does (besides blowing your floor pan off), disc brakes, intercoolers, alot of cool stuff. check that out, it will show all the main parts in a turbo kit, and will also explain how it works, and the differences between it and a supercharger setup
