couple gsr questions
I just got a b18c1 that i'm gonna be droppin into my del slow within the next few months. in the future i will be doind FI and i'm wondering how much boost the stock motor can handle (i know the compression is way up there and i doubt it's very much) and what kind of power i'd be looking at with a Jackson b Series supercharger on there. i've always wanted a supercharged car.

RE: couple gsr questions
not sure if this will help but we have a member on this site running roughly 11 psi with a turbo on his stock gsr and he's putting out 286whp. from what i heard about the gsr engine is that they have a really good stroke and great balancing for FI so they handle boost pretty well.
good luck with swap!

RE: couple gsr questions
Stock internals on the vtec model will not handle 11psi, at least not very long.... maybe the B18B. I would suggest going the SC route because you can push more boost that way with high compression and keep your reliability. probably 10-12lbs max to keep it a daily driver, and stock intenals with a supercharger. Turbo I would say 6-8lbs. max.

RE: couple gsr questions
GSR motors and boost go great. The compression is kinda high so keep boost low. They dont need much boost to get up and go. 5lbs of boost (from a decent size turbo) will give you more power than you will know what to do with, esp in a street car driven daily. The superchargers are great too. As for the dude posting before me....the PSI means nothing. 5.5 PSI on a GT35 turbo is probably like 12 psi on a JRSC, but 5.5 psi on a T25 is nothing compared to either. Its horsepower, not psi that you need to get a goal at.

I've seen stock GSRs handle 400whp daily driven. Depending on the turbo size you can push anywhere up to about ~18psi on 93 octane. With a good tune you'll be jus fine, but for safety's sake I wouldn't do any more than ~300-350, with a good sized turbo that can be had with ~10-14psi. Again it all depends on your turbo sizing, tune, etc.
Do more research.

I have stock internals and run 11psi on a t3/t4 turbo 57 trim. .63a/r. I've had it for 2 years and I drive it hard everyday. Putting down approx. 300 whp. Make sure to tune it and get your a/f ratio right. Nothing but 94 octane. and mobil 1 oil.

RE: couple gsr questions
well since this is looking to become my home forum for honda's yall should learn something about me lol i'm the most indecisive person you will EVER meet!!! my last post was on the 7th... since then i've gone from "i'm gonna SC it" to "i'm going all motor w/ itb's and a stroker" then to "i'm gonna turbo it", now i'm at "i wanna run a gt30r w/ 75shot". i'm sure tomorow i'll wanna SC it again lol. but for real, i WILL be turbo'ing it but gotta get the gsr motor in there, and my ek conversion done first. then after it's got SOME go and all my show, i'll be ready to turbo it.
