Default Hey New guy here

Hey everyone, just joined this forum because well i just got my first honda, I've never been a big fan of honda's moreso mitsu's and nissans, but i got an offer i couldn't refuse for a 97 civic ex for 100 bucks with slight body work needed (new fender and hood) and the guy said he ran the engine out of oil

I figured the engine has to be toasted but when i took the valve cover off and looked at the cam it look completely fine, so i figured hell ill try jumping it, well i got it started but i was making a good knock, however im not totally convinced that its from oil or if its simply from the plugs being in the wrong firing order on the distributor. So basically im in need of some help with that one

As to my background i've worked at a the most prominent 3000gt/stealth tuning shop in existence, and have fallen in love with the beasts, the car in my profile is my favorite job we've done so far, its our shop car. I've built many 3s cars and many nissans including a few skylines, but not much work on hondas other than in class so there that should put me in a nutshell i guess

oh yeah and the black stealth is mine

I've tried a lot of boards recently, the nicest I've found are at hondahookup.com. A lot of people on Honda boards won't respond to n00bs like us it seems. I even a person on one board say I had a thread in the wrong forum. I politely asked which forum I should have posted it in and they deleted my whole thread. Errr...
