Default Z6/Y8 Info plz!

If going from a z6 to a y8 do I need to change the ecm? What is the benafit of a y8 intake on a z6? And where is a good place (other than a salvage yard) to get a z6 or a y8? the place I have has 90day warranty $185 shipping, z6= $420/ y8= $840.

What makes the z6 better than the y8? The y8 would have higher compression, and less miles.

Just because it is a few years younger doesn't mean it will always have less miles. I really think you could spend that money on something else more worthwhile. Maybe it would be better if you had a non-vtec head but you already have one so your not gonna see much of a gain.

I said it is a waste of money to take off your vtec head and put on another one. The only reason you should put a y8 head on your engine is if you don't have a vtec head, but you do so the z6 to y8 swap is a waste of money, it could be spent elsewhere with better results.

That is controversial, some say z6 intake manifold is better and some say y8 is better and I haven't seen any dyno charts that say either way. Anyway, if it is actually better that would mean that it flows air better.

It is performance not proformance....
