Default Why am I getting to much gas?

I have recently purchased a 1999 Honda Civic Si. It ran good for two months, then the problems came. It has many extra parts including a turbo and MSD ignition. The problem that I had, was while I was driving down the highway it would bog a few times then die completly. Somebody told me the MSD probably went bad. I replaced the MSD ignition back to stock. Then it wouldn't start.I checked the spark plugs realized they were really wet.I found out it was getting to much gas. If I unplugged the injectors it would almost start with a little starting fluid. But i don't know why it would be getting to much gas. Please help.

You said it had a turbo so it has some sort of aftermarket engine management, do you know what it is? ex: Emanage, chipped ecu, standalone?

it's not getting too much gas... your seeing the gas on the spark plugs because your having incomplete combustion.

this still actually sounds like a spark issue to me. you need to check for suffecient spark from each plug/wire... as soon as you have sufficient spark you will begin to have amore complete combustion in the chamber and not see fuel left behind like your seeing now.

i would suggest replacing your ignition parts with msd parts again if your running turbo because with added pressure in the combustion chamber, it makes it a lot more difficult for the spark to bridge the gap.

good luck!

No I am not sure What kind Of ecu it is but I still had the stock one in it and tryed it. Had the same problem so i didn't think it was the ecu. would u still think it would be the ecu?

it's not the ecu... think about it, if the msd ignition had a failure problem....and you havn't fixed it since(hasn't run right).... you still have an ignition problem [sm=chairshot.gif]

check for spark.

Honestly I am not good at troubleshooting so I can't help too much but I think you should post everything you know about your setup so someone more experienced than me can help.

depending on how much boost your running... and what rpm's your getting into would decide if you "really" needed the msd... but believe me, if your modding your car in ways it sounds like you are... msd ignition is a great system to have.
