It's from one of my friends who had it in his civic, but just did a b16 and it's sitting in his dad's shop taking up space, so he needs to get rid of it quick.

 

Hokay, so, I just found out that the dude selling me his motor was confusing me. He's selling me a built B18 with tranny and half shafts for 400 flat. He's even gonna help with the swap. I've known him for awhile, so he's givin me a good deal on everything.

Fairly certain it is the B18C...I haven't seen it yet, just told him I'd take it off his hands. Told me it was making 230hp on the rollers with a 10:1 compression.

 

damn, getting a gsr motor for that price, sounds too good to be true. but you said it's a friend right, sounds like a wonderful build to come

what kind of compression should you be looking at? or if you have time, would you like to educate us a little on compression ratios

 

No way hes selling you a GSR motor for 400, unless its blown up. He could easily ebay it and have it gone in a week for 2,000$ if its in good shape.
