Default What engine do I have?

Hi guys, I just swapped the engine in my honda because my old one was shot. The mechanic got an engine straight from japan. It just says D15B on it. So is that all it is? Or is it D15 something? And does anyone know the specifications on that engine? Here's a picture I took of it, its kinda hard to see but it says D15B on it

They're 3 different d15b's , but we could narrow it down if the mechanic knew what he got the motor out of and if it's FI or Dual carburated and if it has Vtec.

Well it does not have v tec for sure. I looked at wikipedia too and that's what I found. So I'm guessing its that one. Do you know when it redlines? And what the crap is a rev limiter?

Take another picture of the engine, zoomed out. If it has a VTEC solenoid (located on the back left side of the head) then the engine's head is a VTEC head.

Now that does not mean it will engage. An ECU for VTEC or other means of triggering/engaging the VTEC solenoid would be required.

okay, you might have a Japanese block, but I'm sorry to tell you that you don't have a VTEC head. It's just a standard 1.5L

Wait, maybe this is a dumb question but I'm wondering. My engine is straight from japan, so could it be a JDM engine? And if it can, how would I find out if it is?
