Weird starting problem

Weird starting problem
Hi,
My 97 Civic EX starts perfectly with a short (normal) crank when the gas is full, butwhen it's about 1/3 full, it starts with longer crank.
It always starts though...never had it not starting, but with low gas, it starts with longer cranking than when it's full.
Does anyone have the same symptom? or would anyone know what's wrong with it?
Other than that, my car is in pristine condition.
Please help! Thanks!

RE: Weird starting problem
Sounds like you're loosing pressure from your fuel line when the tank starts getting low and so it takes your fuel pump a bit of time to get the line filled and to adequate pressure. Next time when you start getting low don't turn the key all the way just first turn it so the dash lights come on and you should hear your fuel pump priming your fuel line. When the hum stop then click it over to start and see if it starts immediately then.

how long does it take to crank wen ur low on gas?? does it start the first crank, if it does its normal, more gas in the fuel tank builds up more pressure....... worst case scenario id say either fuel lines are collged or fuel pump is going bad

OK, I will try turning the key with a pause. ( I normally give it a couple of seconds but I should wait a bit longer I guess)
However, speaking of fuel line/pump, I also noticed when I make a right turn or accelerate, my fuel guage goes down, and on my left turn or break, the fuel guage goes back up, and this happens pretty drastically. My empty fuel sign goes on and off when I have around 1/4 gas left, depending on the direction of the turn.
Yeah, I know, it's funny....anybody else have same issues?
Would it possibly be related to starting problem?
