Default UH OH!!!!!

so last night i was driving my buddy around and i was in gear and he put his hand on the shifter cause he was checking if it was a short throw shift kit even tho i told em it was'nt anyway, as i was in gear he noticed my shifting **** was moving around like it was in nutreaul, he was like what tha ****! i dont think they should do this (hes never driven an imort be4). he said once u move ur stick into gear your stick should not move ... is this true?:S

it should prolly wiggle a tab but i dont think having it move freely as if it were outa gear is a good thing...

ya it all depends on how much it wiggles...it should have a bit of vibration to it, but if it wiggles it self out of gear and wiggles so much that it makes your arm hurt from holding it a bit..then you have a problem

..try to find another standerd and compare

is it something to do with the shift linkage? and if so can it be tightened and fixed?

bushings in yer shifter. unbolt it from the linkage, get a bushing kit, slide it in pack it with wheel bearing grease and away u go.
get a short throw shifter and it'll have new bushings in it... if ya dont wanna bother worrying abotu it then don't, a floppy shifter doesnt hurt anything.
