Trick to put fuel pump back in found
Hello, everyone:
First, thanks for all the supports. I finally put the new fuel pump back in. The trick is:
There is a metal sheet in the middle of the fuel tank, it basically seperate the tank into top (about 10-15 cm to the opening) and bottom compartments. I guess the metal sheet is for measuring fuel level. The trick is to slide the fuel pump into the tight, top conpartment. NOT the bottom one, (which is so easy to get into the bottom one. That's what I made the mistake.) Once you got this, it takes about 15 seconds to put it into the right position. Total time taking to replace fuel pump for 1992 civic: 15 minutes maxum.
Now I have a new question for everyone to help. The Car(1992,civic,lx, AT) still won't start. I checked the fuel by loosing the nuts on top fuel filter. No fuel coming outafter trying to start. electronic problem? bad fuse? please help. By the way where is the fuse for fuel pump?
Thanks

RE: Trick to put fuel pump back in found
I am glad to hear you solved your fuel pump installation problem.
Regarding your current fuel system problem:
1) Double check that the electrical connector for the fuel pump is tightly seated;
2) Check to see if these fuses are blown: Fuse #31 (15A) in under-hood fuse/relay box and fuses #12 (15A) and #18 (7.5A) in under-dash fuse/relay box;
3) Check whether the main relay functions properly (see pictures for relay location and testing).
